The role

What you'll do

This is a revenue role. You don't wait for freight to come to you β€” you go find it. You pick up the phone, build relationships, negotiate rates, and close deals. Every single day.

Freight brokerage is one of the most meritocratic careers in logistics. Your income is directly tied to your effort and skill. There's no ceiling here β€” top performers earn well above their base through uncapped commissions.

You'll learn the freight market inside out, develop a portfolio of lanes and customers, and become the person brokers call first when they need capacity. It's competitive, fast-paced, and not for everyone. But if you're hungry and coachable, this is where careers take off.

Responsibilities

Prospect and close new business

Cold calls, warm leads, referrals β€” you build your book from scratch. No one hands you accounts. You earn them.

Build lasting broker relationships

This isn't transactional. You become the person brokers trust when they have freight that has to move. Reliability is your brand.

Negotiate rates that work

You know the market. You know your lanes. You fight for margins without burning bridges. Every deal should be a win-win.

Manage your pipeline

Track your leads, follow up relentlessly, and know exactly where every deal stands. Your CRM is always up to date.

Hit your numbers

Weekly targets, monthly goals, quarterly reviews. You're measured on results, not activity. Revenue talks, everything else walks.
